Golden Globes confirman a Oppenheimer de Christopher Nolan como la rival a batir en los Oscars y asienta las categorías de interpretación, mientras los Baftas confirman los nombres principales.
Oppenheimer fue la triunfadora absoluta de los Globos de Oro con cinco premios: Mejor Película dramática y dirección, sumó el de mejor música, mejor actor secundario para Robert Downey Jr. y mejor actor en drama para Cillian Murphy, los que los posiciona con los principales rivales.
La que toma gran ventaja del resultado de los Globos de Oro y el anuncio de las listas del BAFTA es Anatomy of a Fall, quien ganó dos premios y apareció muy fuerte en el radar británico, demostrando que tiene el voto internacional, elemento clave en cara al Oscar.
El premio a Robert Downey Jr. como secundario en Oppenheimer despeja las dudas que podía haber sobre su favoritismo y resuelve ese duelo que mantenía con Ryan Gosling. Por otro lado, se desvanece la idea de una tercera vía con Charles Melton, ya que este no apareció en las longlist de los BAFTA.
